Typically when I hear tie dye I imagine a mix of bright yellow, green and red on shirts. Not that it’s not fun, but I experimented designing other tie dye accessories and started with hair accessories. Then I thought of solid color tie dye and/or family of colors in tie dye, and I loved the results!

Every time I look for inspiration I shop for yarn. Fortunately this time I had the opportunity to find this beautiful specialty yarn! Soon I will be designing fall and winter accessories. This yarn comes from Germany and Italy. I will be mixing them for fun color-texture combination. My goal is to end with very unique, soft, delicate, beautiful items to list in my Etsy shop.
Winter is here! No doubt! Heavy snow in the mountains and low temperatures. With all that comes winter fashion, which I love!
I have just created new, beautiful hats in both slouchy oversize and Pom Pom styles for baby, kids, teens and adults. This season sparks my creativity. As usual, I start with beautiful yarn choices in different color combinations. Don’t miss it!
My shop offers handmade unique seasonal items handmade by myself using crochet, knitting and mixing various technique and artistic inspiration. My passion for the arts and helping a cause is also present in my shop. For example, all proceedings from this Mandala artwork sales goes out to fund SharingForKids.org, an organization helping very poor children receive cancer and heart disease related treatment in Cartagena, Colombia.
About the artist:
“Lucia is the artist behind this Heart Mandala. Her beautiful process is to take a Mandala and recreate it while telling us a story through her original use of a variety of unique coloring schemes. By day, Lucia is a psychologist and her experience is that working on Mandala pencil art gives her moments of calm, relaxation, reflection and peace. She also shares that looking upon the finished art is also a great source of peace and quiet.”
Today I am sharing a milestone! 🙂 I received this badge today for my 2 year anniversary on this blog! Thank you to all my followers and readers! I will continue posting more fun inspirational entries. Stay tuned!
Today I am hosting Luisa, shop owner of LittleGemsbyLuisa on Etsy. Here is my interview.
1. How did your start your business? What motivated you to open your Etsy shop?
“I started my business by making myself a customized bracelet. I think that I never hit puberty. I have very dainty features! I was wearing one of my designs at work one day and colleagues wanted to have one too. A few months later I started selling so much I was able to save enough to pay for our wedding reception. Several years later, and two kids later, I finally took the plunge in to Etsy. I wanted to do something I loved that generated revenue and allowed me the flexibility to be at home with the kids.”
2. Which item in your shop is your favorite? Why?
“That’s a hard one! I am into my bohemian phase right now. I love all long wooden necklaces and my leather bracelets too.”
3. When did you learn your craft?
“I started knitting with my mother at around 8. I’ve been beading for over a decade now.”
4. Is there anything else you would like to share?
“Don’t try to please everyone. There is a reason why people like your creations, you made them. Learn about social media, take excellent pictures and don’t expect over night success. Measure achievement by where you were yesterday, last year and compare it to the present.”
