Recently a repeat customer asked me to make a custom order for her. I was happily surprised when I realized that she had uncovered a unique new item for my shop and for everyone else too. Her custom order came with a fun background. My customer said that she wanted a wine glass base so her guests knew how to identify their wine glass. She wanted to offer an elegant way to do this to avoid having people mistakenly drinking from someone else’s glass. Voila! This project idea was born!
This is a smart, beautiful gift idea for Mom, housewarming, newly Weds, etc. I also think these would be beautiful for a wedding table, adorned with some extras and in white or light color yarn.

Today I am sharing a milestone! 🙂 I received this badge today for my 2 year anniversary on this blog! Thank you to all my followers and readers! I will continue posting more fun inspirational entries. Stay tuned!
Today I am hosting Luisa, shop owner of LittleGemsbyLuisa on Etsy. Here is my interview.
1. How did your start your business? What motivated you to open your Etsy shop?
“I started my business by making myself a customized bracelet. I think that I never hit puberty. I have very dainty features! I was wearing one of my designs at work one day and colleagues wanted to have one too. A few months later I started selling so much I was able to save enough to pay for our wedding reception. Several years later, and two kids later, I finally took the plunge in to Etsy. I wanted to do something I loved that generated revenue and allowed me the flexibility to be at home with the kids.”
2. Which item in your shop is your favorite? Why?
“That’s a hard one! I am into my bohemian phase right now. I love all long wooden necklaces and my leather bracelets too.”
3. When did you learn your craft?
“I started knitting with my mother at around 8. I’ve been beading for over a decade now.”
4. Is there anything else you would like to share?
“Don’t try to please everyone. There is a reason why people like your creations, you made them. Learn about social media, take excellent pictures and don’t expect over night success. Measure achievement by where you were yesterday, last year and compare it to the present.”
Here are some more images from her shop: I love her work and her customer service is fantastic! 🙂
Many times I wish my whole crafts time could be dedicated to enjoy thinking about wedding decoration ideas, and making them! My niece is getting married and I was looking for a handmade gift for her big day! I came across some beautiful, simple, delicate ideas from one of the florists she may be hiring. This sparked many wonderful thoughts for my shop and inspired me to start thinking about the gift for my niece. I would definitely love to make handmade decor for napkins. I started working on the napkin ring in the picture and combining it with matching crochet napkin embellishments. I am not so sure about using beige, so I will go to my craft shop and get some delicate metallic lace and try to work the crochet embellishment with it instead.
I will share with you in a future post how it all went. Her wedding is next year, so thankfully I do have time to perfect my idea and to get it done. 🙂

I recently decided to revamp my shop’s wedding section and I had to add this “Something Blue Wedding Ring Bearer Pillow.”
It features traditional granny square crochet with beautiful nautical blue yarn and a beautiful ribbon matching the same tones. I really enjoyed designing this one.
There is nothing like joyful and exciting wedding preparations! 🙂
