A customer sent me this picture. She purchased 40 of my beige pom poms to decorate her amazing Christmas tree! What a magnificent, elegant use of my pompoms!
This whimsical cat art was created by me and inspired by “Michu” (our oldest son) Juan’s first pet. Juan was just 10 when we adopted Michu, and Michu’s favorite pastime was to stare at me for hours. And it did freak me out! 🙂 Silly me, I know!
This cat art greeting card is perfect for cat lovers!

What’s prettier than polka dots? An apron on a polka dot outfit! This apron is tie dyed by me in soft tones of pink, purple and blue. So unique and chic! It’s very cute to wear while entertaining guests.
I am truly fascinated with the elegance and uniqueness of crocheted coin purses. This is the first of a collection arriving to my new Handbags and Purses section in my Etsy shop. Enjoy!
This poncho was inspired by the sea and beautiful summer skies. I love to create and design interesting crochet patterns but this stitch is definitely my favorite for ponchos!

These warmer months are perfect to start planning your DIY projects and to get them started! I love to Crochet and knit so after a great deal of thought I decided to start dying my yarn for my projects. The color combinations were so unique and beautiful that I decided to open an Etsy shop to just sell hand dyed yarn. I truly think that the more thought I put into the design the better my final project result will be
Check out my yarn shop. Everything is hand dyed by me with a lot of care and attention to detail. Every yarn is so beautiful and unique! In future posts I will share my process too!
YarnByAna is the name of my yarn shop. This speckled yarn is one of my favorites!
I am a maker, like many out there. I started my home business working with my hands a few years ago.
My Etsy shop was born because I wanted a place to honor my Mom. She taught me crochet at age 10. It has stayed with me since then. She’s passed now, but the most beautiful memories are still with me. We used to share in a project together. We laughed and spent that quality time together.

New beautiful, handmade, spring and summer inspired tops for teens in my shop.
Soon we’ll be putting our coats away and reaching out for shorts and t-shirts. I am ready to do just that! So I started working on these tops and little by little I will definitely continue to be inspired by the upcoming lovely warmer seasons.
How much do I miss long walks and relaxing days at the beach! These tops are inspired by my life as a child and young adult by the sea side. There are more tops in my shop like this but this one is my favorite! I am adding some additional photos with some of the other tops here as well.
I will definitely get more material for other fun creations and designs. I just can’t wait! 🙂
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a table, guide, cheat sheet to know which needle is ‘perfect’ for what kind of project? At least I think so. Here is what I think about this topic. Maybe you differ and if you do, leave me a comment so we can start a conversation, help each other and all those wonderful readers as well.
While I don’t claim that this is a ‘perfect’ guide, I do want to share my experience in this post.
My general categories are organized from BIGGEST to SMALLEST. I have added a note about the yarns that are best match for the needle sizes, again, just as a general guide.
15.0 – Afghan Blankets
Yarns that work best for blankets and this size of needles tend to be those with texture.
9.0 – 10.0 – Scarves, beanies
The yarn you choose will have an impact on the thickness of the scarf, hat or project. In general yarns with a mix of acrylic seem to work best here.
8.0 – Dishcloth, leggings, beanies and hats for kids.
The yarn that works best for dish cloths is cotton yarn. The yarn that works best for leggings, beanies and hats is any kind that has a mix of acrylic.
< 8.0 – Socks
Wow, there are so many awesome soft yarn qualities for socks in the supply stores! What I normally do for socks is read the label of the yarn and they typically have a note mentioning socks projects.
Leave a comment if you want to add to this list. Otherwise, I hope this quick guide was helpful to you today!
