Pumpkin spice is my favorite thing this time of the year. So every year I have to find a nice, soft yarn in some kind of orange color that resembles pumpkin or pumpkin spice.
This pom pom hat was inspired by my girls. They love pom poms on hats and I don’t make enough pom pom accessories, just to be honest.
I crocheted this hat using a wool blend of a chunky yarn and a size H crochet needle. It’s super fun to make! More about this hat here.
Enjoy the pics!
Beanie hats are meant to highlight your beauty. So the simpler the beanie hat the better. After all this is about you! 🙂
I also like hats with pom poms .. don’t get me wrong. However, I really like the nice simple look of beanie hats. They are relaxed but have great personality!
In terms of this one, I made it using a simple, consistent crochet stitch. Then, the yarn is great too! This yarn is my favorite for making beanie hats. This is a super soft wool blend which makes it very comfortable to wear.
This beanie hat is also available in almost every color. More details here.
Welcome to My Yarn Getaway, a blog where you will find lessons, projects, ideas and stories about yarn and beautiful projects. I hope you can find this content useful and learn to make beautiful things with your own hands and hopefully with and for your loved ones.
Since I was 10 I learned to crochet with my Mom (R.I.P). She was a great teacher. Her lessons allowed me to have a space to retreat with a piece of yarn and needle and relax. Today I am a business woman, a professional, a wife and a Mom. All these things are great blessings, including my Etsy shop , my treat! At CrochetKnitandMix.etsy.com you can see who I am, my designs and inspiration. This blog will hopefully complement my shop.
Finally, this blog is the one place where I want to share what I know and inspire others to find a way to unwind and relax, which is what crochet, knitting and embroidery do for me. 🙂
Here is my first lesson in English and Spanish. My son, Jimmy, plays the acoustic classical guitar in the background to his original tunes, while I go on sharing some stitching lessons with you. Enjoy! 🙂
